Amazon Web Services
The CSI GITAM Student Branch in association with the Department of Computer Science Engineering is going to organize the technical Symposium in the month of December named as ETHEREAL 2.0 - 'Explore Beyond the Limits'. The Symposium comprehends a chain of Technical and Non-Technical events. There's a lot in line to be excited about. Come and be part of this enthralling Symposium and make it a imperishable one. Voice-enabled Future
The CSI GITAM Student Branch, in association with the Department of Computer Science Engineering, had organized their Annual fest named "M.ART.IN. 2k19" on 5th and 6th March 2018. The fest was inaugurated by Dr. S. Raja and Prof. M. Shashi. A multitude of technical and non-technical events were organised over the period of two days alongwith a hands-on workshop on “Smart Automation with AI Assistants” was also conducted, dealing with technologies based on Internet-of-Things, Cloud Computing and Amazon Alexa.

Workshop
on Big Data Analytics
On 20th November 2018, the CSI GITAM Student Branch, in association with the Department of Computer Science Engineering, had organised a workshop on Big Data Analytics. The resource person and the Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Ravi Vatrapu, Centre of Business Data Analytics, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. The workshop began as an interactive session with Prof. Ravi Vatrapu laying out the foundation of Social Set Analysis with examples of where an organisation can leverage its benefits. He introduced several fundamentals to serve as a base to the workshop and involved students with his questions.

Two-Day Workshop
on Cyber Security
From 31st August to 1st September 2018, the CSI GITAM Student Branch, in association with the Department of Computer Science Engineering, had organized a two-day workshop on Cyber Security which was made to inculcate the students with a basic understanding of the world of ethical hacking and cyber security. The speaker for the workshop was Mr. Vinod T. Senthil, Founder, Managing Director & Chief Technical Officer, infySEC, Chennai. The session was a mix of theory and hands-on where the participants tried hacking their way through a "Capture The Flag" challenge hosted by infySEC.

Career Options after Engineering Education
On 17th July 2018, a seminar on "Career Options after Engineering Education" was organized by the CSI, GITAM Student Branch, in association with the Department of CSE. The guest speakers for the event were Mr Alosies George, Founder and Director, George Prep, and Shri Ram Mohan Adibhatla, Head - Verbal Ability, George Prep. The Principal, Head of Department, CSE, and the Training & Placements Officer (TPO) addressed the gathering and offered their exprience and advice regarding the ever-changing demands of placements. The guest speakers enlightened the students about the various career paths that competitive exams such as GRE & CAT offer and then recommended pursuing higher studies to build a network and foundation to gain a stable future. They then introduced several guidelines for making definitive decisions for their future.

Career Guidance and Future Studies
On 21st March 2018, the CSI GITAM Student Branch in association with the department of Computer Science Engineering organized a seminar on "Career Guidance and Future Studies" and steered a career orientation session to success. The main speaker for the event was Ramaraju, Institute of Foreign Studies (IFS) Consultancy.

Cloud Computing and NLP
The CSI GITAM Student Branch in association with the department of Computer Science Engineering organized a seminar on Cloud Computing and Natural Language Processing on 9th March 2018. The main speaker for the event was Vijay Ponduru, Lead Application Developer, Nuveen Technologies, San Francisco. He gave an insight on the working of the cloud computing systems and the basics of natural language processing while explaining its relevance in the industry and its scope in the future.

Ethereal 2K18, Annual Fest
The CSI GITAM Student Branch in association with the Department of Computer Science Engineering had organized the Annual fest named "Ethereal 2k18" on 5th and 6th March 2018. The fest was inaugurated by Professor Siba K Udgata. The two-day fest featured a vast variety of technical and non-technical events to promote the talent among students. A workshop on Smart Automation was also be conducted over the two days dealing with technologies based on Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Computational Intelligence.

Cloud Computing by Alibaba Cloud
The CSI GITAM Student Branch in association with the Department of Computer Science Engineering hosted a workshop on "Cloud Computing" for Alibaba Cloud as a part of the CSI Annual Fest "Ethereal 2K18" on 3rd March 2018. The featured speakers for the event were - Shri. Sharat Chandra, MVP, Alibaba Cloud India Ltd and Shri. Goutham Upadhayay, Chief Technical Officer, Alibaba Cloud. They briefly explained the importance and the working of the cloud computing system with the live example of the WordPress website hosting on the Alibaba Cloud.

Distributed Computing
A seminar on "Distributed Computing" was held on 19th December, 2017, where the featured speaker was Shri. Sumanth Pasupuleti, Senior Software Engineer, Netflix, California. He highlighted the importance of programming as CSE undergraduates and stressed on the value of time. He encouraged everyone to get started with Cassandra and Open Source Software Development and concluded with an interactive question and answer session.

VR & AR
A workshop on IoT was held on November 25th, 2017 as a part of the CSI APSC 2017. The featured speaker for this event was Smt. Kavya, Director, iB Hubs, Bangalore. She helped everyone understand the intricacies of VR and AR in an interactive session where all the students were given a chance to experience Virtual Reality using a VR Box which they had brought along.

Internet of Things (IoT)
An IOT Workshop was held on November 25th, 2017, as a part of the CSI APSC 2017. The featured speaker for the workshop was Shri Manikanta Gupta is Project Manager - IoT, iB Hubs. He introduced the emerging world of Internet of Things and the career options that arise with it. He explained the basics of IoT and had an interactive session showing the practicalities of IoT, encouraging everyone to be "makers".

Cyber Security
A workshop on "Cyber Security" was held on November 24th, 2017, as a part of the CSI APSC 2017. The featured speaker for the workshop was Shri Venkata Abhinava Devaguptapu, Project Manager - Cyber Security, iB Hubs, Hyderabad. He spoke about the impact of hacking in cyber warfare, displayed several techniques commonly used in it and how to secure yourself against them.

CSI Andhra Pradesh Student Convention 2017-18
Theme: "Rising India — A Step towards Digitalization"
The CSI APSC 2017-18 was hosted at GITAM, Visakhapatnam on 24th and 25th November, 2017. Over the two days a diverse variety of events took place for the convention such as Code Savvy, Quiztal Maze, Paper presentation, etc. and workshops on Cyber Security, IoT, VR & AR.
Participation: 550+ students
Digithon
A walk–a–thon titled "Digi-Thon" was organised at Rama Krishna Beach Road on Nov 21st, 2017, to bring awareness about Digitalization in India. The Principal and Dean, GIT, Prof. K. Lakshmi Prasad has flagged off the event. The event witnessed an active participation of over 80 students in order to raise awareness about Digitalization as a part of the Andhra Pradesh State Student Convention by CSI GITAM Student Branch.

Blockchain Technology
A two-day workshop on "Blockchain Technology" was given by Shri Opinder Preet Singh, Head, ETHLend, India Ltd., an expert in the area of Ethereum blockchain and digital currency. The concept of rising bitcoin usage was beautifully portrayed and addressed by the speaker. The speaker explained various problems in economy and banking structure leading to the need for digital currencies, and showed how it can be utilised by diverse companies in their work.

Android App Development using IoT & Integrated Embedded Systems
On 18th September, 2017, the workshop on "Android App Development using IoT and Integrated Embedded Systems" took place. Mr. Srikanth, Director & national Head, Academy of Robotics, spoke about the world of startups and entrepreneurship and went on to delve into the idea of entrepreneurship with the help of programming, proper administration and software.

Digital Transformation
The seminar was given by Mr. P Saravanan, Delivery Head, NIIT Ltd. Mr. Saravanan garu gave the students an impeccable seminar on the constant change that occurs in the life of an engineering graduate and pointed out how digitalization has completely transformed the world into a better place. The seminar aimed to have everyone properly utilize their own potential and to make the world a better digitized platform.

Swachh Bharat Drive
In association with NSS, GITAM wing, "Swachh Bharat Drive" was organized by CSI Student Branch at Tenneti Park, Visakhapatnam, on 12th March, 2017. Activities/events like these raise the disciplinary sense in students and also helps them for contributing to community service. They would, in this way, come to know about the society and the amount of cleanliness that is needed for our surroundings. The volunteers diligently worked with enthusiasm during the event.

Praudyogiki 2k17
CSI conducts fests every year in the month of February and as such, in the year 2017, a fest named "Praudyogiki 2k17" was conducted on 13th February. The students participated in the various technical and non-technical events that were organised, such as Folder Locks, Snake & Ladder, Code Marathon, Clash Of Codes, Link Arts, Teens To Toons, Crypt Ur Minds, Get The Best Twist, Piko-Taro and workshops on .NET & Cloud Computing.
